With more than 8 years of commercial real estate experience, Christopher Barney joined CREC in 2012, as Vice President, Tenant Representation. Mr. Barney’s focus is on expanding and further strengthening the company’s retail tenant representation portfolio across the State of Florida.
By using his extensive negotiation experience, outstanding landlord-broker relationships and broad market knowledge, Mr. Barney is well equipped to properly position CREC’s clients for long-term and sustainable success throughout Florida. Major clients Mr. Barney currently represents include: 24 Hour Fitness, Flix Brewhouse, Pet Supplies Plus, Too Jays Deli, Destination XL, Applebee’s, Jimmy Johns, Hair Cuttery, Dunkin Donuts, Wing Stop, Domino’s and others.

Prior to his employment with CREC, Mr. Barney worked for High Street Retail USA, Cohen Commercial Realty and Woolbright Development; during this time he gained invaluable experience within many different segments of the shopping center business by performing landlord representation, tenant representation, investment sales, and acquisitions, as well as working with banks on distressed asset portfolios.
Mr. Barney received a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Florida State University (Tallahassee, Florida). He is a licensed Florida Real Estate Salesperson, a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), and is a founding member of the Gentlemen’s Society of South Florida, a Florida based non-profit young professionals group.
