Mr. Mekras’ closed sale and capital market transactions across Florida include: the $108 million financing of Melody Tower (497 units) in Miami, $102.5 million sale of Monticello Apartments (856 units) in Miami, $105.5 million debt financing of 22 Skyview and Flagler on the River in (508 units) in Miami, and the $81 million sale of the Trafalgar Portfolio (568 units) in Dania Beach.
Prior to joining CREC, Mr. Mekras was a Managing Director at Aztec Group, Inc. in Miami, Florida. In addition to his forty closed transactions while at Aztec, Mr. Mekras also was an active originator, underwriter, asset manager and shareholder for Mayan Capital, Aztec’s merchant banking arm.
Mr. Mekras holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a concentration in Real Estate Finance from Southern Methodist University (Dallas, Texas). Mr. Mekras has been a Florida resident for over 35 years, is an active participant in the University of Miami Mentor Program and the Legal Services of Greater Miami Foundation’s Investment Committee, and is a licensed Real Estate Broker-Associate and Mortgage Originator in the State of Florida.
