The Perry Hotel. A ground-up development joint venture delivers
a world-class, 100-room boutique hotel product.
CREC, in collaboration with Hostmark Hospitality Group, Longstock II, LLC and Lubert-Adler, delivered a world-class 100-room boutique hotel in one of the nation’s highest barrier-to-entry tourism markets. CREC’s construction management and supervision team was instrumental in executing the development process, from conception to entitlements through completion, with a vision and development strategy that beautifully complements the adjacent Stock Island Marina Village.
Tucked away in one of Key West’s most beautiful and accessible settings, the partnership acquired the four-acre property, located at 7001 Shrimp Road Drive, for $10 million in February 2016. Opening in May of 2017, The Perry Hotel Key West, situated on a working marina, presents water and marina views, oversized private balconies in all guest rooms, as well as one restaurant and two bars, and is in close proximity to Duval Street, the airport and major tourist attractions.
A successful delivery on a collaborative vision.
The property infuses a modern architectural style with curated elements, surfaces and textures characteristic of the area’s nostalgic past – from old propellers at the registration desk, reclaimed wood tables, exposed concrete columns, rusted steel, to a mix of concrete and reclaimed teak flooring – objects and materials that directly speak to the history of Key West.
Named after U.S. Navy Commodore Matthew Perry, the first person to claim Key West as United States’ territory, the hotel drew inspiration from the working marina, nearby boat repair shop and residing, to the weathered shrimp boats which still have a presence around the island.
The Perry Hotel Key West is a testament to the expertise and execution from CREC’s experienced team and partners in the development of this exceptional product.
Stock Island Marina Village is the largest deepwater marina in the Florida Keys, providing 220 slips in an advanced floating dock system. A tremendous asset to Key West, it affords the hotel property a prime, waterfront location just four miles from downtown and the famed Duval Street destination.
